“Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh Morning Prayer

May I Be a Guard by Dalai Lama May I be a guard for those who need protection A guide for those on the path A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood May I be a lamp in the darkness A resting place for the weary A healing medicine for all who are sick A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles And for the boundless multitudes of living beings May I bring sustenance and awakening Enduring like the earth and sky Until all beings are freed from sorrow And all are awakened. ~Prayed every morning by His Holiness the Dalai Lama~ The baby is wide-eyed and beautiful. Brand new and without the scarring that comes with the human condition. This soul in the body of a baby looks lovingly at us as if to ask, “teach me everything you know...teach me how to live.” Our intentions are good and we want to foster and nurture this innocent soul but along the way we teach it hate, not only for itself but for others. This is not done knowingly. At a subconscious level we have learned to hate, to judge, to distrust, to devalue ourselves and others and these little beings absorb what we have become. We must cleanse ourselves of hate, judgement and criticism and fill ourselves with love, compassion and peace. For our children will inherit who we are. ~channeled by Janelle~ |
